Implementation of Protocol for Metadata Harvesting in Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations

Abstract

Implementation of Protocol for Metadata Harvesting - PMH protocol, and its use for exposing metadata in Dublin Core format have been described in this paper. Protocol implementation has been finalized, and it is currently being tested, using the test environment provided by the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University – VirginiaTech. Short disscusion on usage of this protocol in library environments in our country, as well as reference to the list of Open Archive Initiative (OAI) member institutions have also been provided.
